Terms of Service

The short version: KeptIt tracks whether you kept a commitment. Any money in a challenge is between you and the other person. It never passes through us, and we are not responsible for collecting it.

1. Using KeptIt

You need an account, and you must be at least 13 years old. Keep your password to yourself; anything done from your account is treated as done by you.

2. What KeptIt does

You set a goal, optionally with someone else and optionally with something at stake. KeptIt reads the relevant metric from your devices and shows both sides the same numbers. When the challenge ends, it records who won.

3. Money never moves through KeptIt

This is the important one.

Do not use KeptIt for anything that would be gambling where you live. Challenges are meant to be commitments to yourself with a friend holding you to them, not wagers on chance.

4. Play fair

Do not fake your data, use another person's device or account to generate results, or challenge someone who has not agreed. Do not harass anyone through a challenge, a dispute note, or a display name. We can suspend or remove an account that does these things.

5. Health data

You choose what to connect and can withdraw permission at any time. If you do, we can no longer score challenges that depend on it. How we handle this data is set out in the Privacy Policy.

6. KeptIt is not health advice

KeptIt is a motivation tool, not a medical device. Nothing in it is medical advice, and the numbers it shows come from consumer devices that can be wrong. Do not use it to diagnose or treat anything. Talk to a doctor before starting anything strenuous, and stop if you are hurt. A challenge is never a reason to push through an injury.

7. KeptIt Pro

Your first challenge is free. After that, running challenges requires a KeptIt Pro subscription, billed monthly through your Apple ID. It renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel it in your Apple ID settings, since we cannot do it for you. Refunds are handled by Apple under their policy. If the price changes, you will be told before it takes effect.

8. Availability

KeptIt is provided as it is. We do not promise it will always be available, that device data will always sync on time, or that it will be free of bugs. Features may change or be removed.

9. Limits of responsibility

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for money you did not get paid, for injury from activity you undertook, for missing or wrong data from Apple Health or Oura, or for indirect losses. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

10. Third-party services

KeptIt relies on services we do not control, including Apple Health, Oura, Supabase and RevenueCat. To the fullest extent permitted by law, those third-party service providers make no warranties of any kind in connection with KeptIt, whether express, implied or statutory, and specifically disclaim any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

Those third-party service providers are excluded from all liability for any consequential, special, punitive or indirect damages arising out of or connected with your use of KeptIt.

Those providers are not parties to these terms, are not responsible for KeptIt, and provide no support for it. Any data they supply is provided as it is.

11. Ending it

You can delete your account whenever you like, and your data goes with it. We can suspend an account that breaks these terms. Open settlements do not disappear because an account did. What people owe each other is between them.

12. Changes

If these terms change materially, the date above changes and we will say so in the app. Continuing to use KeptIt after that means you accept the new version.
